Essential Function

  • Serves as staff assistant to the Deputy Director, providing consultation regarding matters which are often of a sensitive and/or controversial nature
  • Provides professional assistance to the Deputy Director in the research, design, implementation, and reporting of special studies/projects on programmatic and administrative responsibilities
  • Serves as timekeeper for the Office of Education and Transition Services
  • Provides assistance to the Deputy Director in maintaining appointment schedule, coordinating travel arrangements, and completing travel vouchers.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or private administration.
  • Requires two years of professional experience in a public or private organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers 3 years of experience as an administrative assistant in a public or business organization.
  • Prefers 3 years of office experience in a public or business organization.
  • Prefers 3 years of experience conducting research and analyzing information in a public or business organization.
  • Prefers 3 years of experience using Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Prefers 3 years of experience representing his/her supervisor in meetings.
  • Prefers 3 years of experience tracking data in a public or business organization.

Employment Condition

  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
