This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something fresh and dynamic, where your skills in project coordination, relationship management, and event planning will make a real impact.

We welcome professionals returning to the workforce—if you have transferable skills and are looking to re-launch your career in an environment that values collaboration, initiative, and strategic thinking, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll take the lead on coordinating business and community partnerships, ensuring seamless execution of professional programs, and handling key administrative functions. Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing external partnerships, from onboarding new organizations to ongoing communication and support.
  • Coordinating events such as workshops, bootcamps, and business summits.
  • Overseeing budgets and financial processes, including invoicing and compensation for subject matter experts.
  • Leading marketing efforts, including social media campaigns and other engagement strategies.
  • Acting as a bridge between university departments and external partners to ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Supervising the CPEL Graduate Assistant and Career Connection functions in AVP’s absence.
  • Identifying and engaging potential new partners to expand CPEL’s reach.
  • Representing Rockford University in external meetings and industry events.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • A self-starter mentality—you take initiative & ownership.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—you’ll be engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with social media, marketing, and event coordination (bonus if you have graphic design skills).
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and online project management tools.
  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s preferred). Two or more years’ direct experience in project management/coordination is highly valued. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
