The Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the availability of Business Roundtable sessions to address topics identified as concerns in the recent chamber survey. 

This roundtable will address Succession Planning and Exit Strategies. 

This session is ideal for businesses that want to take a proactive approach to this topic. 

Here are some background statistics regarding business succession: 

•There is a big wealth transfer occurring and will continue over the next 10 years as business owners are aging and looking to sell their businesses 

•As reported in a recent Capitalize Network presentation, 80% of small businesses never sell- 48% just shut down and for 32% the sale gets terminated

 o The top reasons they never sell: 

 Owner gets blindsided (Disability, Divorce, Death/Disasters/Economic Disruptions/Industry Threats) 

 Business isn’t ready for sale due to lack of buyer interest (Unclear Growth Strategy) 

 The Deal fails for avoidable reasons (Acquisition thesis erodes/Show Stopper emerges/etc)

In this two-hour session, we will use a roundtable advisory board format to offer solutions on how business owners can be prepared and have a plan of action. 

The Roundtable will be professionally facilitated by Mark Tichgelaar of The Alternative Board of Rockford.
