U.S. News and World Report ranks the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy 15th among the colleges of pharmacy in the Nation. UIC student pharmacist pursue the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, the highest level of professional education for the field. The patient-centered curriculum helps develop confident, caring, practitioners with the ability to adapt and meet the challenging needs of society, as well as advances in the pharmaceutical sciences. In 2010, the UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy added an additional campus in Rockford, IL where students benefit from small class sizes and personalized attention. The College of Pharmacy is viewed as a single institution with one accreditation on two campuses: Chicago and Rockford. The courses are taught as one by faculty on both campuses via state-of-the-art technology. The College of Pharmacy offers advanced degree such as masters and PhD programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy. The UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy offers post graduate PharmD residency training in clinical pharmacy (PGY-1), specialized (PGY-2) programs in a wide variety of clinical areas, and research fellowship opportunities.
