Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Data Coordinator/Secretary. Under direction, this position will prepare complex reports which track and provide a census of all DCFS youth in care in psychiatric hospitals, reviewing the quality and accuracy of the information. The position will also maintain databases designed to serve as a management tool for organizing and utilizing key information regarding the needs of DCFS youth in care who are served by the unit and will conduct special projects and studies utilizing various data. Finally, the position will serve as secretary to the unit, answering phones, reviews and sorting faxes and mail, etc. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s Clinical operations. Essential Functions
- Serves as Data Coordinator/Secretary
- Prepares various forms and reports of team statistics, exercising judgment in conducting involved searches by accessing various sources of information
- Serves as secretary to the unit
- Utilizing the ability to integrate applications and prepare comprehensive reports, data tables, charts, and graphs, develops weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports for the Administrator
- Provides general clerical support for the Administrator as assigned
- Serves as timekeeper
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of secretarial/business college OR completion of high school and two years of related office experience OR two years of independent business experience
